About the Adventure We are taking part in the mighty Mongol Rally.

As well as raising shed loads of cash for charity, we are doing this because.....we enjoy near death experiences?.....we want to sample some Kazak beer straight from the cow's udder?.....we want to drive on roads worse than those in Ireland.....if that is possible!

We are raising money for the 2 charities/projects listed below....Home and Homes for Children and Mercy Corps Mongolia. We need to raise at least Stg £1000 for these charities directly through this 'Will We Make It' website. We hope to raise much more than this though. Monies raised through this 'Will We Make It' website go directly to our charities/projects. None of the donations made through this 'Will We Make It' website go to funding our costs, like so many other of the what we call 'charity holidays' that can be undertaken these days.

We will be covering all of our own costs including things like purchase of a car and all that entails for getting it to Mongolia. This car will be sold off in Mongolia by the event organisers and the proceeds will go to our charities/projects. We are therefore also looking for support to help cover the costs for the car. Our current budget for the car and any modifications we might make is €2000.

So, you can either donate directly to the charities via this 'Will We Make It' website, or you can make a contribution (and hence an indirect charity donation) to cover the costs for the car that will subsequently be sold off for charity in Mongolia. To avail of this latter option please make your donation directly to our own PayPal site rather than using this 'Will We Make It' website.

Corporate sponsors will also be invited to contribute using our own PayPal site. Monies received from corporate sponsorship and advertising will first be put towards our car costs and then towards some of our other key expenses for this event, such as fuel for the journey, car repairs, ferries, flights back from Mongolia, etc. After this, all additional monies received from corporate sponsorship and advertising will be passed on to our charities by us, via this 'Will We Make It' website.

Any support you can provide will be greatly appreciated, not just by us, but by the people whose lives you will be helping to improve.

Our Challenge //

Mongol Rally 2008

The Mongol Rally 2008 starts on July 19th 2008 from London, Madrid and Milan and ends up in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

What's the point?

The world is just a little bit too safe. Gone are the days when the edge of the map called you forth to discover what lay beyond - satellite maps and GPS have it laid out before you leave the armchair. What if you want th...
